Laughter Yoga is truly the best medicine!

Laughter Yoga is a unique concept where anyone can laugh for no reason, without relying on humour, jokes or comedy.

It was started by a medical doctor, Dr Madan Kataria from India with just 5 people in a Mumbai Park in 1995.  Today there are thousands of laughter clubs throughout the world.

In Laughter Yoga we initiate laughter as an exercise, with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon turns into real and contagious laughter.

The reason we call it Laughter Yoga is because it combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing.  This brings more oxygen to the body and the brain which helps us to feel more energetic and healthy.

The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter and if done with willingness you will get the same physiological and psychological benefits.

Studies show the medical benefits of laughing releases the brains happy chemicals (D.O.S.E. Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endorphins) into our body through laughter. The link to yoga is our concentrated breathing, no downward dog moves required.
