About Me

Susie
My Core Values and Beliefs

Shaped by the conflict in Northern Ireland, dealing with difficult situations in the community where I grew up and moving to London at a young age and then the journey back home have all served my personal and professional development.  I have been enriched by living in diverse and divided communities and experienced first hand how conflict was managed ineffectively and destructively.

I have been fortunate to have had the most amazing role-models which included working alongside holocaust survivors talking to young people about their experiences and debriefing the young people on what they had heard the survivor say, social responsibility and change.  I passionately believe in supporting each other, the importance of open and constructive/positive communication, training, supporting change for the future and laughter.

I helped to establish a Community Mediation Service, Family Support Hub in London and Dispute Resolution Service for the Education Authority.  I have completed hundreds of Mediations/Conflict Coaching Sessions and provided training for University staff, community/business organisations, individuals and families.  Training Mentors on a three-day course preparing them to mentor a young person on the edge of being excluded from school in Buckinghamshire.

Specialist Family Support Foster Carer in Northern Ireland since 2014 supporting families for their children to remain at home and not entering the care system.  Walking beside families in a non-judgemental way, listening, encouraging positive communication skills, managing conflict, signposting and helping with change.

In this role I provide short breaks for the children.

I am delighted to be offering my services and welcome you to get in touch to have a confidential conversation on how I can be of service to you.
